About Dr. Dietmar Weng Dr. Dietmar Weng is a prominent German dentist and academic with expertise in prosthodontics, implant dentistry, and soft tissue management. He earned his dental degree from the University of Marburg in 1993 and began his academic career at the Department of Prosthodontics, University of Freiburg. Early in his career, he expanded his research internationally as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Texas at Houston, focusing on dental implants and regenerative techniques. Between 1999 and 2004, Dr. Weng served as Associate Professor at the University of Würzburg, and he later completed his habilitation at Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel in 2011. In private practice in Starnberg, Germany, since 2004, Dr. Weng specializes in implant dentistry, periodontics, and prosthetically driven restorative treatments, with a particular focus on the surgical and prosthetic management of soft tissues. He has contributed extensively to professional education, lectures, and scientific publications, and has held leadership roles including Vice President of the German Society of Dental, Oral, and Craniomandibular Sciences (DGZMK).
