About
The Busch MicroPrep line is a family of miniature diamond burs built for minimally invasive dentistry. Shorter working parts and reduced head diameters let you open a fissure, remove caries, or refine a small preparation while conserving the maximum amount of healthy tooth structure. What Makes MicroPrep Different Reduced head sizes for micro-preparations and micro-invasive access cavities Available in medium grit for cutting and fine grit (red ring) for finishing the same shape Round, pear, cylinder round and flame geometries covering the full micro-prep sequence FG shank for high-speed handpieces Manufactured in Germany by Busch & Co. GmbH Choosing a MicroPrep Bur Start with a medium-grit MI figure to gain access and remove carious dentin, then switch to the matching fine-grit MI figure (the 8000-series equivalent, e.g. MI 830 → MI 8830) to finish the cavity walls and margins. Because the shapes mirror each other across the grits, the preparation geometry stays consistent from access through finish. For speed recommendations see the Dental Bur Speed Chart , and for shape selection by cavity class see the Dental Bur Glossary .
