Founded by Richard Hatton, Disc Golf UK traces its roots back to 2007 when Hatton's discovery of Disc Golf at Quarry Park sparked an immediate addiction. Within a year, he was organizing events, and by 2009, he had assumed the role of Secretary at the British Disc Golf Association. In 2014, in partnership with Jon Tweed, Hatton embarked on the installation of his first course at Bedworth Miners Welfare Park. This experience led him to envision an alternative approach to establishing courses in the country. The following year, Disc Golf UK was established, and since then, the company has been steadfast in its mission to promote the growth of Disc Golf through a multifaceted approach, encompassing competitions, course development, coaching, and enhancing access to discs. In 2019, Disc Golf UK expanded its horizons by introducing UK-made discs. These discs, marketed under the Launch Disc Golf and Disc Golf UK brands, have gained international recognition and are now distributed worldwide.
