Get the height right first Height is the one thing worth measuring before you buy. Counter or kitchen height stools (seat around 65cm) suit a standard kitchen bench; bar height stools (seat around 75cm) suit a raised bar or island overhang. As a rule, leave 25-30cm between the seat and the underside of the bench for legroom.
