Sizing a coil to the page count A binding coil is the plastic spiral that threads through a coil-punched document. The whole decision is the diameter, which is set by how many pages you are binding. As a guide: 6mm holds up to around 60 sheets, 10mm around 85, 16mm around 135, 25mm around 220, and the largest 50mm coil takes a thick manual of several hundred pages. Pick a coil a little larger than the stack so the pages turn freely rather than binding tight. 21-loop A4 pitch All the coils here are 21-loop A4 pitch, the standard hole pattern for coil binding machines, so they fit any A4 coil binder. They are not interchangeable with comb binding, which uses a different punch and a plastic comb. Colours and pack sizes Black is the everyday standard, with blue and other colours for colour-coding documents or matching a brand.
