About
Elena Penkova Elena Penkova was born and raised in the historic city of Kyiv, Ukraine—a long-standing center of trade, culture, art, and music. From an early age, she was immersed in a rich creative environment that shaped her artistic sensibility and appreciation for both classical and contemporary expression. Elena received her formal education at the University of Art and Theater Academy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. During her studies, she was introduced to the great works of art from the past and present, drawing inspiration not only from her own cultural heritage but also from the avant-garde movements of other civilizations. The emotional depth, haunting beauty, and expressive power of these styles left a lasting impression on her artistic voice. While living in Ukraine, Elena actively participated in numerous exhibitions and art shows, earning recognition for her technical skill and creative vision. She later relocated to the United States and now lives and works in Los Angeles, California. Despite the challenges of establishing a new life and raising a family, Elena remained deeply committed to her passion for painting. Her first encounters with the Southern California landscape reignited her creative energy, providing ongoing inspiration that continues to influence her work today. In addition to landscape painting, Elena enjoys exploring still life and figurative subjects, further expanding her artistic range. Elena is a member of the California Art Club, and her original works have been exhibited at venues such as the Women’s City Club and the Portico Gallery in Santa Barbara, including the exhibitions Painting Created in Studio and Images of Springtime . Currently, Elena serves as a Master Embellishing Artist for Collectors Editions, publishers of Disney Fine Art. In this role, she is a key artistic collaborator, working closely with dozens of published Disney artists to bring depth, detail, and distinction to fine art editions.
