About

Our largest flooring range, and the one that suits most homes. A genuine oak surface bonded to a multi-ply core, giving you a real wood floor that stays stable over underfloor heating and in rooms where solid timber would move. Browse the full range below, in plank, herringbone, chevron and Versailles, with wear layers from 2.5mm to 6mm and board widths from narrow traditional boards to very wide planks. Colours run from raw unfinished oak through natural, golden and grey to deep smoked tones. Every floor comes with free A5 samples delivered next-day, a 25-year structural warranty, and a calculator on each product page that works out exactly how many packs you need. Narrowing down the range Engineered oak is a broad collection, so it helps to decide two things before you start browsing colours: how thick a wear layer the room needs, and how wide you want the boards. Wear layer The depth of real oak above the core, quoted as two numbers. A 14/3mm board is 14mm thick with a 3mm oak surface. Thicker means more sandings over the life of the floor. Wear layer Suits 2.5mm Bedrooms and lighter-use rooms 3mm Most rooms in most homes 4mm to 6mm Hallways, kitchens, heavy traffic Board width This changes the character of a floor more than most people expect. Wide planks show more grain in each board and read as contemporary, suiting larger and open-plan rooms. Narrower boards give a more traditional, busier floor that works well in smaller spaces and period properties. Engineered construction is what makes the wider boards possible. Solid oak cannot be milled as wide without excessive movement, which is why our widest planks are all engineered. Pattern Every layout we sell is available in engineered oak: straight plank , herringbone , chevron and Versailles panels . Patterned floors need a 15% allowance for cuts rather than 10%, and are generally bonded to the subfloor rather than floated.
