Internal & External Door Frames Our range covers two standard height configurations — one suited to internal doors and one to external doors. All frames are supplied unassembled for safe long-distance delivery and come with full fitting instructions. Single and double door apertures are available in standard South African door sizes. What Is a Door Jamb? A door jamb is the vertical timber side section of a door frame. Jambs bear the weight of the door and keep the frame square and plumb. Over time, minor foundation movement can cause jambs to shift out of vertical, leading to doors that stick at the top or bottom. Replacing the frame early prevents damage to the door itself. Material & Finish All Doors Direct door frames are manufactured from high-quality, kiln-dried meranti timber. The timber is supplied untreated and unprimed, ready to paint in any colour.
