Bing Surfboards Read More Bing Copeland goes way back. He began surfing in 1949, at age 13, at the Manhattan Beach pier with his friend Greg Noll, and was involved in many of the big developments in surfboard design throughout the 60s and 70s. He's a man who's been there, done it and knows all there is to know about making surfboards. These days Bing plays more of an advisory role, leaving the manufacturing to a passionate and highly skilled team headed by Matt Calvani - without doubt one of the world's finest shapers right now.
