About

What are Raspberry Beetles? The Raspberry beetle ( Byturus tomentosus ) is a pest of Raspberries and other cane fruit. This small brown beetle lays its eggs from May to July. Raspberry Beetle Damage & Symptoms The Raspberry Beetle eggs develop into brown to white coloured larvae that burrow into the fruit, mainly at the stalk end of the fruit. This is often not observed until the fruit has been harvested. How To Control Raspberry Beetles There are no pesticides available to gardeners for control of this pest and to date no natural biological control that can be acquired. The only solution available is to hang out Raspberry Beetle Traps to attract and catch the adult beetles, which consequently will reduce egg laying.
