Aldous Harding is a New Zealand singer-songwriter from Lyttelton. Her music is a mix of folk, country and alternative music, often featuring her trademark baritone vocals. She released her self-titled debut album in 2014 and has since released three more albums: Party (2017), Designer (2019) and Heaven of Animals (2019). Her standout albums include Party, which features the single "Horizon" and was nominated for the 2018 Taite Music Prize. Designer is her most acclaimed album to date, earning her a nomination for the 2020 Polaris Music Prize. Aldous Harding is also known for her unique live performances, often featuring elaborate costumes and props. Her live shows have earned her a dedicated following, with fans often travelling long distances to attend. An interesting fact about Aldous Harding is that she began writing music while living in a bus in Wales, before returning to New Zealand to pursue her musical career.
