Aaron Probyn

Aaron Probyn is a British product designer working from an East London studio. Before establishing his own practice, he built experience with design-led businesses including Habitat, Conran and Tom Dixon. His work spans tableware, lighting, furniture and domestic objects, but the common thread is close attention to how an object is held, used and lived with. Probyn founded his eponymous design studio in 2012. The practice has since worked with companies including The Conran Shop, Another Country, Heal’s, IKEA, Normann Copenhagen and West Elm. Its projects range from small-batch objects to high-volume production, giving the studio a practical understanding of materials, tooling and manufacture rather than treating design as styling alone. In 2020 he launched the Aaron Probyn own-brand collection. The stated aim was to make useful, long-lived design more accessible through carefully selected manufacturing partners. The range includes glassware, dinnerware, candleholders, planters and table accessories, with each family developed around a clear material or everyday ritual. Dyke & Dean’s current published edit is deliberately focused: three colourways of the tall Hove salt and pepper mill. The mill brings the wider studio approach into a single object—an economical silhouette, visible wood grain, a ceramic mechanism and colour used as part of the material rather than as surface decoration alone.
