About
Recycled Paper & Cork Journals in India Hand-bound journals, planners and bahi-khata notebooks made from recycled paper, with cork and vegan leather covers. No animal leather anywhere in the range. How to choose a journal Paper GSM matters more than page count. Recycled paper around 80–100 GSM handles pen and pencil cleanly; below that, fountain ink and marker will show through. If you use ink pens, check the GSM stated on the listing. Binding. Thread-stitched and bahi-khata style bindings open flat and survive daily carry better than glued spines. Glued blocks are lighter but shed pages over a year of use. Cover material. Cork is light, water-resistant and gets softer with handling. Vegan leather (usually PU on a cotton backing) holds a firmer shape and wipes clean. Both are leather-free. Ruling. Blank pages suit sketching and mixed use; ruled and dotted work better for daily notes and planning. Size. A6 fits a jacket pocket, A5 is the usual everyday size, jumbo formats are desk-bound. Recycled paper carries slight colour and texture variation between batches — that is a feature of the pulp, not a defect. Related: plantable stationery , office essentials and eco-friendly gifting .
