Uncoated copper reacts with acidic food, so it suits water storage and dry serving rather than cooking curries. Tin-lined (kalai) brass is the traditional fix. Scrubbers. Coir, loofah and sisal are plant-based and compost at end of life, unlike nylon mesh. Food wraps. Check the coating — traditional wraps use beeswax; plant-wax versions are the vegan option.
