Sustainable Kitchen Essentials in India Most kitchen waste is generated by things you replace often — scrubbers, cling film, plastic storage, disposable cutlery. Switching those to durable or compostable alternatives has more impact than replacing a single appliance. This range covers cookware, storage, serveware, cleaning tools and reusables from vendors we work with directly. What to check before you buy Stainless steel grade: 304 (18/8) is the standard for food contact; 202 is cheaper and corrodes faster. Vendors should state the grade. Copper and brass: confirm whether the item is food-grade lined or unlined. Unlined copper is fine for water storage, not for acidic cooking. Wooden and bamboo tools: look for a food-safe oil finish rather than a varnish, and hand-wash only. Scrubbers: coir, loofah and jute scrubbers are compostable; plastic mesh sheds microplastics into your drain. Non-stick: if you use it, check the coating is PFOA-free and the vendor states a safe maximum temperature. Storage: glass and steel do not absorb odour or stain the way plastic does, and they can be reheated. Browse related ranges: Kitchen & Dining , Cleaning Essentials and Home & Office .
