Some traditions endure because they're practiced. Earlier this year, East Fork founder Alex Matisse revisited something that had been dormant for years: painting on pottery. Drawing on techniques he learned as an apprentice and motifs developed throughout his early career, a new series of decoration emerged. Today, those motifs are hand painted onto each piece of this collection by a small team of East Fork painters, carrying forward a craft rooted in apprenticeship and made to be used around the table.
