PU armor greaves are molded polyurethane plates covering the lower leg from just below the knee to the ankle. They protect the shin and calf and are one of the most visible pieces of leg armor in motion, which makes the design choice more noticeable than it might seem when the piece is sitting on a shelf. Unlike leather greaves, PU greaves have no break-in period and no conditioning requirement. The shape is fixed from day one, which makes fit straightforward but also means getting the sizing right before purchasing matters more than it does with adjustable materials.
