The joint gender of your pipe Water pipe joints are either male or female. For example, if you have a 14mm male joint on your tube, then you’ll need a 14mm female join on your ashcatcher. This will allow the ash catcher to sit on the tubes joint and create a tight seal and fit. 3. Your join angle on the pipe Water pipe joints are usually set at either a 90 degree or 45 degree angle. Like joint size and gender, this will also need to match. If you have a 14mm male joint that sits on a 90 degree angle, you’ll also need to get a 14mm 90 degree female joint.
