OHTO were established in 1929, and in 1949 they were the first among Japanese pen companies to manufacture the ballpoint pen. They have a rich history outside of Europe, with many of their brands being a popular choice in pen collections. In 2006 OHTO launched CERA-GEL technology which involved using a ceramic ball in ballpoint pens in order to prolong their shelf life, making their pens a quality and long lasting choice. Their company slogan is 'something new!' which is certainly in tune with their innovative and forward-thinking designs.
