About
The Club Car DS is the cart most people picture when they hear the words “golf cart.” Aluminum frame, squared-off body, built in Augusta from 1982 all the way through 2014. There are still hundreds of thousands of them on the road, in the yard, and on the course — and most of the parts that wear out are still readily available. That’s what this page is for. A few year notes worth knowing before you click. The DS ran 36V from 1982 through 1995, then switched to 48V from 1995 to the end of production. On the electric side, the 48V DS runs a SepEx system (PowerDrive, and later Excel, controllers). Gas DS carts ran the FE290, FE350, and later Subaru EH29C engines. The chassis is broadly the same across decades, but the electrical system changed more than once — so confirm your year before you buy a controller, solenoid, or charger. Most folks landing here are after lift kits , light kits , rear seats , body kits, or a lithium conversion — all of it lives below. New to upgrades? Our guides on Club Car light kits and Club Car body kits walk through the options first. Not sure what year DS you have, or whether a part fits?
