Chiffon is a sheer, lightweight woven fabric made from silk or polyester. It can have a plainweave and a crinkle weave and come in an array of fashionable prints and solids. Chiffon is most often used to sew blouses, dresses, skirts and scarves. Georgette is a weave type that has a pebbly finish. It is heavier than chiffon but still sheer. It has a dull finish and has a nice drape. Double georgette contains more threads but still has a dull finish and nice drape. It is suitable for blouses, dresses and scarves. It is most commonly found in silk and polyester.
