Superior Quality Anti Pil Polar Fleece Our polar fleece is made in Taiwan from an anti pil spun polyester which is much softer and longer lasting than most polar polyester fleece fabric which is sourced in China. The anti-pil outer side is brushed differently during manufacture and guarantees no pilling. Is Polar Fleece Stretchy? Our high quality polar fleece is knitted and although it has no lycra or elastane, it does provide a natural give across the fabric so make sure you have the right direction across your patterns so that it gives in the correct way. It doesn't fray and is easy to sew. What Weight is Polar Fleece? Our polar fleece is 280gsm but feels much lighter so it's warmer to wear without feeling too heavy or bulky. The non-facing side is incredibly soft and cosy. Is Polar Fleece Easy to Sew? Yes, as the anti pil polar fleece fabric doesn't fray and is easy to work with. Before you start to sew with polar fleece, it is important to check the nap, i.e., which direction the fibres run on the brushed side. When you lay out your pattern pieces ensure they are all laid out with the nap in the same direction to avoid inconsistencies in texture and colour. How Should I wash Polar Fleece? If you look after it and only wash at 30 degrees and never tumble dry, your anti-pil polar fleece garments will look like new for years with no pilling, shrinking or signs of wear.
