There are many different types of satin depending on the core fabric content and the weave or finish used. As explained above, satin refers to the weave rather than the material, so it is not the same, although satin material can be made of silk. Can you steam satin fabric? You can use a steam iron on satin as long as the garment is not stained and your iron is completely clean. We advise turning the garment inside out and avoid using steam if you have the type of iron which sprays water drops onto the item you are ironing. What does satin fabric feel like?
