Sustainable Fabric

About
At Fabrics Galore we are increasingly looking to source sustainable fabrics which means that we try to source high quality fabrics where the environmental impact is low from the way the raw material is grown to the processing and its end of life recyclability. For example, we have a range of organic cotton fabric which means that the cotton is grown without harmful pesticides or fertilisers and the process of turning the raw material to fibre does not use harmful chemicals. Our customers in the sewing community are not typically consumers of fast fashion preferring to create a garment which they can wear for years to come. Look out too for our semi-synthetic fabrics like lyocell or modal and natural fabrics like cotton and linen which meet either GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) or OEKO-TEX 100.
