Brushed sweatshirt is great for winter children's wear. Fleece backed sweatshirt fabric Fleece backed sweatshirt has a bigger pile on the fabric and feels cosier to wear due to that fleece backing on the inside. The fleece backed side is usually made from synthetic fibres. Sweatshirt fleece is lovely in winter. Loop backed sweatshirt fabric Loop backed sweatshirt fabric has loops on one side and soft piles on the other and is similar to, but slightly heavier than French Terry. How much fabric do I need to make a sweatshirt? Always check the pattern but usually 2 metres of fabric is plenty to make a sweatshirt, or perhaps only 1.5 metres if you are using ribbing for the collar and cuffs.
