Archers are specialized soldiers, masters of the bow and arrow. Their role is to provide ranged support, thinning enemy ranks or targeting key individuals from a distance. Mandatory Kit Items: Surcoat or tabard to go over your armor in the color(s) of your baron (you may add your baron’s sigil, but it is not required). Leather boots or period-appropriate shoes. Tunic and pants in linen, wool, silk, or textured cotton. An English-style medieval longbow (no recurves/horsebows) 35# @28” or less. Quiver or arrow bag. Quivers/arrow bags should be worn at the waist with either a waist or shoulder strap. Optional Kit Items: A leather bracer to aid in shooting. A padded gambeson or chainmail shirt. Period-appropriate pouches or bags. Additional weaponry like daggers, maces, spears, and battle axes. Leather gloves suitable for the period. Cloak or cape for staying warm in camp at night.
