About
The Luggie scooter didn’t start as a product idea; it started as a problem to solve. Back in the 1990s, FreeRider founder Arthur Wang set out to build a scooter for his wife. Something lighter, easier to handle, and practical enough for everyday life, not just something that looked good on paper. That idea eventually became the world’s first folding mobility scooter, launched in 2009, and it changed how people travel with mobility equipment. Today, the Luggie scooter is still known for the same thing it was built for: making it easier to get out, travel, and stay independent without dealing with a bulky scooter.
