About
EPDM Rubber Gym Flooring EPDM is the coloured granule you can see through the surface of the tile. Where standard gym rubber uses recycled SBR granules with a colour fleck pressed into the top layer, EPDM granules are coloured all the way through — so the finish holds its colour under UV and heavy foot traffic instead of fading to grey. That makes it the specification for facilities where the floor is on show: reception areas, front-of-house training zones, boutique studios and anywhere with skylights or a shopfront window. Tiles or Rolls? Tiles — 1m x 1m in 15mm and 20mm, plus a 1m x 0.5m at 30mm. Easier to handle, simple to replace one damaged tile, and straightforward to work around posts and rigs. Rolls — 10m lengths in 5mm and 10mm. Fewer joins across a large open floor and faster to lay over big areas, but heavier to manoeuvre and harder to patch. As a rule: rolls for large open cardio and studio floors, tiles for free-weight areas and anywhere you may need to lift a section later. Choosing a Thickness 5–10mm — cardio floors, studios, walkways and general underfoot protection 15mm — the standard for most commercial gym floors and machine areas 20–30mm — free-weight zones, dumbbell areas and anywhere plates get dropped Colours Available in black plus red, blue, green, grey, white and pink fleck, so you can zone a floor by colour or match a brand palette.
