Focus Pads

About

Focus Pads & Boxing Mitts Curved focus pads, speed mitts, punch paddles and junior pads from Morgan, Sting and Onyx Focus pads (also called focus mitts or coaching mitts) are hand-held targets a coach or partner uses to call and catch punches. Because the target moves, and the holder can throw back to test your defence, pad work builds accuracy, timing, combinations and footwork in a way a bag can't. Our range covers Morgan, Sting and Onyx, from entry-level pads for home training and PT sessions to leather pads for coaches holding rounds every day. You'll also find punch paddles and square target pads for speed and fitness drills, and junior focus pads for kids' classes. How to Choose Focus Pads Shape: curved or pre-bent pads sit naturally in the holder's hand and help catch punches cleanly. Flatter pads give a bigger target for beginners and fitness classes. Padding: thicker pads protect the holder's hands and wrists from hard hitters; lower-profile mitts are easier to move quickly for fast, high-volume combinations. Material: synthetic leather is easy to wipe down and suits shared gym gear; genuine leather pads wear in over time and suit coaches using them daily. Paddles vs pads: punch paddles are flat, light and quick to move, which makes them good for speed and reaction drills, but they absorb less power than a padded mitt. Juniors: smaller hands and lighter punches suit junior focus pads.
