About
Judo & BJJ Mats Purpose-built matting for judo, Brazilian jiu jitsu, wrestling and MMA. Grappling arts need a floor that absorbs a hard throw and still gives a stable base to move on — which is a different job to a gym floor built for dropped plates. Our range covers both formats. Tatami puzzle mats interlock jigsaw-style in 2cm to 4cm thicknesses, with a rice-straw texture that grips bare feet without burning skin on a takedown. Judo / BJJ mats in 2m x 1m panels give you fewer joins across a large dojo floor and a firmer competition feel. Choosing a Thickness 2cm — light striking, kids classes, home training spaces 2.5cm – 3cm — the standard for most BJJ and MMA clubs 4cm — judo, wrestling and any programme with heavy throws If your club runs a mixed programme, spec to the hardest landings you take rather than the average session. Planning Your Dojo Floor Measure your usable training area in square metres and add 5–10% for cuts around posts, doorways and cage bases. Tatami mats can be trimmed with a sharp utility knife and straight edge. Larger panel mats need less cutting but want a more accurate measure up front. Fitting out a full club?
