About
100% Pure Cotton Fabric by the Metre All fabrics in this collection are 100% pure cotton — no polyester blends, no synthetic grounds. Cotton breathes, washes well, and takes print beautifully. It's the material most of Freedom Tree's design work is built around — and has been since we started. Block-Printed & Screen-Printed Cotton Freedom Tree uses both digital printing and screen printing for our cotton fabric s, depending on the design and usage. Screen printing gives a slightly handmade character — gentle variations in color and application that make each metre slightly different. Digital printing allows for finer lines and more complex colour separation. Both are printed in India by skilled craftspeople. Cotton for Curtains Printed cotton curtain fabric is one of the most popular uses for our by-the-metre range. Medium-weight cotton makes excellent unlined or lightly-lined curtains — it drapes well, filters light beautifully, and the print is visible from both inside and outside. See the Curtains collection for ready-made options, or buy fabric by the metre for custom curtain making. Cotton for Upholstery Medium and heavy cotton fabric s are suitable for sofa and chair upholstery, and also suitable as heavier light-blocking curtains . For a broader selection of upholstery-specific weights and textures, see the Upholstery Fabric collection. Cotton for Cushions & Soft Furnishings Cotton fabric by the metre is also widely used for cushion covers, table linen , bed covers and general soft furnishing projects. Order Fabric Swatches to check the weight and print before buying a full length.
