The Barrico range is made in the UK, faithfully and directly modeled on an oak 'hogshead' barrel as featured in The Times . The end result are a collection of products with the authentic look of an oak barrel and the durability and longevity of MDPE. The word hogshead derives from the English word “hogges hede”. This popular word in the 15th century was used to measure 63 gallons. The origin is to be found in the name for a cask appearing in various Germanic languages, for example, Dutch oxhooft.
