About
Allen Iverson is one of the most influential basketball players of the modern era. The 2001 NBA MVP, 11-time All-Star, four-time scoring champion, and Hall of Fame inductee (2016) defined an entire generation of guards with his crossover dribble, fearless drives into the paint, and refusal to be measured by his size. At 6 feet tall and barely 165 pounds, Iverson played 14 NBA seasons — most of them in a Philadelphia 76ers jersey — and finished his career averaging 26.7 points per game, fourth-most in NBA history at the time he retired. His 2001 MVP campaign carried the Sixers to the NBA Finals against the Shaq-Kobe Lakers, and Game 1 of that series gave us one of the most iconic moments in basketball history: Iverson hitting a fadeaway over Tyronn Lue and stepping over him on the way back up the floor. Philadelphia lost that series in five, but Iverson's culture-defining impact — the braids, the sleeve, the swagger, the influence on hip-hop and streetwear — outlasted any championship. The card collector's view Iverson's rookie cards come from the 1996-97 set — one of the deepest rookie classes in NBA history alongside Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, and Ray Allen. His 1996-97 Topps Chrome Refractor #171 is the chase rookie, with PSA 10 copies trading in the thousands. His 1996-97 SP Authentic, Skybox Premium, and Fleer Metal rookies round out the premium tier. For Philly fans who want The Answer on the wall, our Allen Iverson plaques pair real licensed cards from his Sixers run in display-ready formats — Hall of Fame guard, real cards, fan-cave ready.
