About

Andrew McCutchen is one of the great Pittsburgh Pirates of the modern era. The 2013 National League MVP, five-time All-Star, four-time Silver Slugger, and 2012 Gold Glove winner spent the prime of his career carrying the Pirates back to relevance after two decades of futility — three straight playoff appearances from 2013 to 2015, the franchise's first since the early '90s, anchored by McCutchen patrolling center field and hitting in the middle of the order. After stints with the Giants, Yankees, Phillies, and Brewers, McCutchen returned to Pittsburgh in 2023 to finish his career where it began — a full-circle move that meant everything to a fan base that had watched him grow up at PNC Park. Even as a veteran DH and corner outfielder, his presence in the clubhouse and the lineup gives the Pirates' young core (Paul Skenes, Henry Davis, Oneil Cruz) an experienced anchor with playoff scars. The card collector's view McCutchen's flagship rookie is the 2006 Bowman Chrome Draft Auto #BDPP59 — his first Bowman auto from the year the Pirates drafted him 11th overall out of Fort Meade, Florida. Refractor parallels in high grade still command real prices, and his 2009 Topps base rookie is the Topps issue collectors typically chase. Most of his cards from his MVP-era prime remain affordable mid-tier collectibles. FreshDCards doesn't currently carry an Andrew McCutchen-specific plaque, but Pirates fans can browse the full Pittsburgh Pirates collection for team-themed plaques, card sets, and bundles featuring McCutchen and his teammates.
