About

Barry Larkin is one of the greatest shortstops in baseball history and one of the most beloved players in Cincinnati Reds franchise history. He spent his entire 19-year MLB career (1986-2004) wearing Reds red — a rarity in modern baseball — and built a Hall of Fame resume that included the 1995 NL MVP Award, the 1990 World Series championship (a four-game sweep of the heavily favored A's), 12 All-Star selections, three Gold Gloves, nine Silver Sluggers, and induction into Cooperstown in 2012. What made Larkin special was the combination — he could hit for average, hit for power (career-high 33 home runs in 1996), run (379 career stolen bases), play elite defense, and lead a clubhouse. In an era of specialists, he was the complete shortstop, and the standard against which Reds fans now measure every infield prospect that comes up through the system. The card collector's view Larkin's flagship rookie is the 1987 Topps Traded #61T , with the 1987 Donruss Rookies, Fleer Update, and Score Rookie & Traded issues all part of his rookie class. His 1987 Bowman base rookie is also collected. Most Larkin cards from his playing career remain affordable — perfect for Reds fans building collections of the franchise's modern golden era. For Reds fans who want Larkin on the wall, our Barry Larkin plaques pair real licensed cards in display-ready formats — Hall of Fame shortstop, real cards, fan-cave ready.
