Christopher Morel is the Chicago Cubs' versatile young hitter and one of the more electric power bats in the system. Signed as an international free agent from the Dominican Republic in 2015, Morel worked his way through the Cubs' system as a multi-position player and made his MLB debut in 2022, immediately establishing himself with the kind of power-and-speed combination that's hard to find. His ability to play infield, outfield, and DH gives Chicago lineup flexibility, and his raw power produces 20+ homer seasons when he gets enough at-bats. The Cubs' rebuild around Pete Crow-Armstrong, Cade Horton, and young arms has put Morel in a transitional role, but his ceiling as a multi-position power bat keeps him valuable for the franchise's young-core era at Wrigley.
