Craig Biggio is one of the great Houston Astros of all time and a Hall of Fame inductee whose career bridged eras. The 1st-round pick of the 1987 MLB Draft out of Seton Hall, Biggio spent his entire 20-year MLB career (1988-2007) in Houston — playing catcher, second base, and outfield at various points while compiling 3,060 career hits, 668 doubles (5th all-time), 414 stolen bases, seven All-Star selections, four Silver Sluggers, and four Gold Gloves. He was inducted into Cooperstown in 2015. Biggio's longevity and positional versatility were unique — few players in modern history have played at an All-Star level at three different premium defensive positions. His 668 doubles still rank him 5th all-time, and his fingerprints are all over the Astros' record book. He helped lead Houston to the 2005 World Series (a sweep loss to the White Sox), and his number 7 is retired at Minute Maid Park alongside Jeff Bagwell's 5.
