About

Notes from Andrea on some of the gear used during her trip to the Porcupine Mountains in Michigan: Wool-It - I loved this product. It really helped me with hot spots and prevented me from getting any blisters at all. I dislike sticky adhesive or the mess of other products, so this was perfect for me. Simply place it where your hotspots are and let the natural fibers absorb the friction, cushioning sore areas. This will forever be a staple in my hiking kit. Cnoc VectoX 3L bladder - I use 3L bladders because I always prefer to have the option to carry more water. I use these with the micro squeeze filter from Sawyer. Brautigam long handled spork in prism - a staple in any kit, but the prism coloring is fun, and the long handle is essential for thoroughly mixing food for in-pouch rehydration and clean eating. Peanut Chicken Salad from Good To-Go - The star of the show! It was my first time using cold soak meals on the trail, and I was pleasantly surprised. The veggies had good texture, and the flavor was great. Vice Versa Fanny Pack - Perfect for quick-access items on the trail and as a personal bag when leaving my pack behind for a small excursion or filling up the gas tank on the drive home.
