About

Premium Olympic bumper plates built to be dropped — low-bounce virgin rubber with steel insert hubs that protect your barbell and floor. Whether you're outfitting a home gym, garage gym, or commercial facility, GIANT bumper plates are sized for standard 2-inch Olympic bars and built for cleans, snatches, deadlifts, and high-rep conditioning. Sold as pairs, singles, and full sets. How to choose bumper plates A few things to look at before you buy: Bounce & durometer: our plates use a dense virgin-rubber compound for a low, controlled bounce — the home-gym sweet spot for Olympic lifting and CrossFit. Diameter: all GIANT bumpers meet the standard 450mm competition diameter so they load evenly on the bar. Steel insert hub: a stainless steel center insert resists wear and keeps a tight, lasting fit on 2-inch (50mm) sleeves. Set sizing: buy in pairs to match your training, or grab a full set to load a bar from your first session. Bumper plates vs. iron plates Bumper plates are rubber and designed to be dropped from overhead — ideal for Olympic lifting, CrossFit, and any training on a platform or rubber floor. Iron and grip plates are thinner and let you load more total weight in less space, which suits powerlifting movements like squats and deadlifts that aren't dropped from height. Many home gyms use both. If you're not sure, bumper plates are the safer, more versatile starting point. What weight set should you buy? Starter (150–230 lb): great for beginners and most general training. Home gym (260–350 lb): the most popular range for serious lifters loading squats, deadlifts, and Olympic lifts. Serious / commercial (400 lb+): for heavy strength athletes and shared gym spaces. Frequently asked questions What are bumper plates?
