Pigment epithelium‑derived factor (SERPINF1) is a secreted serpin with strong anti‑angiogenic and anti‑inflammatory activity. It is expressed in multiple tissues and inhibits pathological angiogenesis induced by oxidative stress or ischemia while decreasing vascular permeability, inflammation and fibrosis. Initially identified for neuronal differentiation, PEDF also shows neuroprotective and pro‑apoptotic effects on endothelial cells. GoldBio offers recombinant PEDF that supports studies in ocular disease, neurodegeneration and angiogenesis inhibition.
