Festuca or Blue Fescue A brilliant choice if you want to add a splash of colour to your garden big or small. Festuca are hardy tufted grass like plant, they can be herbaceous or evergreen grasses with beautiful linear, striking coloured leaves and brownish or green flowers in the summer, foliage will be blue grey or silver in spring, summer and autumn. Where to Site Your Festuca As these are low growing turfed grasses, they do need to be positioned at the front of the border. Pefect choice for pots / troughs. Or gravel borders they thrive in. How to Grow and Look After you Festuca Festuca like full sun and moist well drained soil. They don’t require fertiliser, although this will encourage new growth, it doesn’t do the flowers any favour.
