About
Blue Blue Japan has grown slowly, amassing a cult-like following of indigo lovers worldwide after its launch in 1996 in Tokyo as the in-house brand of OKURA. The artisanal indigo house uses traditional dyeing and construction techniques. The beauty of using natural fibers and all-natural indigo is in the process of the initial saturated blue color fading over time to match the wearer’s body and habits, each garment built to develop a distinctive patina - these are clothes that only get more beautiful with age. Blue Blue Japan sees a special appreciation that can only come from letting a garment take shape over the months and years. The made-in-Japan clothing tells a story and carries a sense of warmth. Blue Blue Japan makes comfortable clothing and life items to be loved and treasured for years.
