Hand rakes are ideal for clearing leaves, prunings and debris from between plants, levelling soil in raised beds and loosening the surface before sowing. Their compact size gets into tight spaces under shrubs and around perennials where a full-size rake can't reach. Choose stiff steel tines for working soil and lighter, flexible tines for gathering leaves. Look for a comfortable handle and a rust-resistant finish.
