External Hard Drives

About

External Hard Drives SSD or HDD is the first decision, and it comes down to speed against price per gigabyte. An SSD has no moving parts, so files transfer faster and the drive survives being knocked about in a bag far better, which suits day-to-day carrying between a laptop and other devices. An HDD stores far more for the same money, which is what makes it the better choice for a full backup of photos, videos and documents rather than for files accessed constantly. USB 3.0 on both formats gives a fast, plug-and-play connection with no drivers needed on most systems. Capacity should be sized to the job: 256GB or 512GB SSDs suit quick, secure access to working files, while 1TB, 2TB and 4TB HDDs suit archiving a full photo or video library. Intenso supplies the range, covering 256GB and 512GB portable SSDs and 1TB, 2TB and 4TB portable HDDs, all over USB 3.0.
