NIJ Level III+ is a rifle-rated protection level certified to stop common rifle threats including 5.56 M193 and 7.62x39 MSC, at a substantially lighter weight than ceramic Level IV plates. It's the most popular rifle-rated protection level for all-day wearability. Level III+ SAPI plates in this collection are built from UHMWPE polyethylene by LTC , HighCom Armor , and RMA Armament , all independently tested to NIJ 0101.06/0101.07. Polyethylene construction also means these plates float and resist shattering on repeat hits. What to expect: rifle-rated protection at roughly half the weight of a comparable Level IV plate, but no rating against armor-piercing rounds.
