Sailor Fountain Pens

About

Founded in 1911 by Mr. Kyugoro Sakata, an esteemed engineer from Hiroshima, Japan, Sailor's journey began with a chance encounter with a fountain pen demonstrated by a British sailor. Inspired by the pen's design and functionality, Mr. Sakata was determined to create equally exquisite writing instruments in Japan. Named in homage to the British sailor who ignited his passion for fountain pens, Sailor has since become synonymous with precision engineering and superior quality. With over a century of heritage, Sailor continues to produce some of the finest fountain pens available worldwide.
