About

Hydrus Inflatable Paddle Boards Built in small batches. Designed by paddlers. Idaho-tested since 2012. Most inflatable paddle boards are picked from a factory catalog. A brand chooses a shape, a layer count, and a color. The factory ships the result. The logo is the only thing that is actually different from board to board. Your board does not have to be that. The Hydrus iSUPs on this page were engineered, not selected. Every material was developed with outside engineers who know the chemistry and the physics. The shapes were honed by a shaper who has hand-refined thousands of boards across river, surf, foil, and race. The construction is built in small batches in Eagle, Idaho. The boards ship direct to you. The retail markup that funds other brands' marketing budgets funds better materials, construction, and your limited lifetime warranty instead. That is the short version. The long version is at /pages/how-we-build . Why Hydrus Inflatable Boards Are Different 1. Engineered to outperform Hydrus iSUPs use Armalight Air™ construction. Multi-layer fusion composite-reinforced PVC, heat-welded seams, reinforced rails. The result is a board that holds its shape under your weight instead of flexing under it. "They achieve very impressive rigidity … track better than other inflatables … won't 'pop' … very durable." Reddit user, r/SUP Every board is pressure-tested up to 31 PSI before it leaves the factory. That is the floor the limited lifetime warranty stands on. If something goes wrong on our end, we have you covered. 2. Built to last Cheap boards split at the seams within a few seasons. The failure point is the glue. A lot of brands ship "chemical-welded" seams, which is a careful way of saying glued seams with a marketing name on top. Hydrus seams are welded, multi-layer, and triple-reinforced. The seam is part of the board, not stuck to the side of it. You get years of paddling out of that difference. "Hydrus paddleboards came out on top for craftsmanship and quality.
