About
What Is HVAC Insulation? HVAC insulation covers the materials used to wrap, seal and acoustically treat heating, ventilation and air conditioning ductwork and pipework. Insulating HVAC systems reduces heat loss or heat gain as conditioned air moves through ducts, prevents condensation forming on cold surfaces, lowers energy costs and dampens operational noise from fans and equipment. In commercial and industrial buildings, properly insulated ductwork is a requirement under BS 5422, which sets minimum insulation thicknesses for building services to control energy waste and support compliance with Approved Document L. This collection brings together TEKHVAC duct insulation products for taping, sealing and acoustically lagging HVAC ductwork. For broader acoustic, thermal and building insulation materials, see the Insulation UK Lagging and Duct Wrap & Roll sub-collections, or browse the full Acoustic Insulation and Insulation ranges. Duct Roll Tape TEKHVAC Class 0 aluminium coated duct roll tape is used to seal joints, laps and seams on insulated ductwork. It is available in 75mm and 100mm widths, supplied in 50m rolls, and offered in both black and white coated finishes. The Class 0 rated aluminium facing provides a clean, durable seal while maintaining the fire performance of the duct insulation system. Duct roll tape is an essential finishing product for any HVAC insulation installation, helping to maintain the integrity of the insulation layer and prevent air leakage at joints. Acoustic Lagging TEKHVAC acoustic lagging polymeric barrier (also known as mufti lagging) is a composite acoustic barrier material designed for wrapping HVAC ductwork, pipework and plant equipment to reduce noise breakout. It is available in 26mm and 53mm thicknesses, supplied as 2m x 1.2m sheets. Acoustic lagging is commonly specified where HVAC equipment generates unwanted noise that needs to be contained, particularly in commercial buildings, offices and residential developments where
