About

Plasterboard is a rigid building panel made from a gypsum core pressed between two paper liners, used to line internal walls and ceilings. UK plasterboard sheets are standard at 2400 x 1200mm, covering 2.88 square metres each, in thicknesses of 9.5mm, 12.5mm and 15mm. 12.5mm is the standard plasterboard thickness for walls and most ceilings. Specialist grades add fire resistance, moisture resistance, acoustic mass or bonded insulation. We stock 55 board lines from Knauf, Gyproc plasterboard by British Gypsum, Siniat, Celotex and Kingspan, from £9.86 per sheet ex VAT, alongside the screws, fixings, tools and finishing accessories needed to complete the job. Weights vary slightly by manufacturer. Knauf Wallboard, the most widely stocked standard board, weighs 6.1 kg/m² at 9.5mm, 8.1 kg/m² at 12.5mm and 10.1 kg/m² at 15mm. On a standard 2400 x 1200mm sheet covering 2.88 m², that is roughly 17.6kg, 23.3kg and 29.1kg respectively.
