The Evans Hydraulic is a two-ply drum head with a thin layer of oil sealed between the two plies — a construction that produces one of the darkest, most dampened tones available from a drum head. The oil layer absorbs vibration and dramatically reduces sustain and overtones, giving the Hydraulic a thick, punchy, highly controlled sound that is particularly associated with classic rock and studio recording. Available in two finishes: Hydraulic Glass (clear plies, brighter attack) and Hydraulic Red (red-tinted outer ply, slightly warmer tone). Tom batter heads available in 10" , 12" , 13" , 14" , and 16" in both Glass Clear and Red finishes.
